Summer is coming to an end...

It is indeed sad to say that this summer is coming to an end. Our little family has been richly blessed by everyone. The Lord has completely blessed our family with parents and brothers and sisters that are not only encouraging to us and love us, but love the Lord and encourage us in our walk with Him. What an awesome blessing. Though we are going to miss you guys as we head back to Virginia Beach, we are excited to enter John's third and final year of law school!!! It has all gone by so fast. It just goes to show that man's day are numbered and we do not live here forever. Brody has completely changed during our stay here. He came down as a little dude with two teeth who had to have a pillow placed behind him when he sat on the floor just in case he toppled over! Now he has 6 teeth (and is working on a few more) can sit up by himself and is scooting all over the place and loves to stand up on things by himself! How amazing. It is so wonderful to be blessed with watching him grow up!
Brody has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know his uncle Barney. Any time Brody was feeling low and aggitated, we could always rely on Uncle Barney to cheer things up right away. Even when this huge Unlce of his would bark at us, it only made Brody laugh. Thanks, Barney.
Abercrombie was looking for some new models, so we decided to send them some of Brody's full body shots. I think he could be the next biggest thing to Zoolander.

This is our little cowboy. Aren't these hat and boots the best??
"Howdie, M'am"

Brody is just chillin with some of his great-grandparents.
Here Brody enjoys some fun sun time with his "fur brother" has his Grandma would call him. Good Ole churchill. We'll miss you too, puppy.

We love you all. Come and visit us while you still have the chance to stay in Virginia Beach for free!! :)

Poor little dude

Sorry, but I have no pictures to add today. I just wanted to give you all a quick update on Brody. He woke up two nights ago and couldn't sleep unless I was holding him, so he soon entered our bed for the night. When we all woke up the next morning, Brody had a fever of 101.9. After watching him all day and giving him baby tylenol, his fever came down to normal. So, I figured it must have been teething related and was thankful he was back to normal. Well-this morning he woke up with that crazy 101.8 fever again, so he is off to the Pediatrician's office at 11:00 a.m. Please pray that they will quickly and easily find out what is wrong and give him something to make him feel better. Thank you!!

So, I just got back and it turns out that he does indeed have an ear infection in both of his ears. :( He is now on Children's Motrin and an antibiotic. Please pray that he feels like himself right away and heals completely!

Tyler Family Beach Trip 2008!

So, we just got back from a week of fun and fellowship with the Tyler clan. We stayed at a home that was on the inlet from a family that we knew through the school attached to our church. They had a golf cart that we could ride to the beach which was doubly entertaining for Tristin (ok-for all of us). We were able to put out crab traps at the end of their dock and we caught enough crabs to have crab dip (thanks to Ty). Yum. One funny event is demonstrated in the following picture. It seems that my mom and John's dad have the exact same taste in silly sailor hats for Brody. They must both enjoy watching John put up a fight about dressing Brody as a sailor. :)
John took out the trash one day and found this baby. He decided to keep it for the family's amusement.
This is the house that we stayed in.
Here's a picture from their dock.

Teal is my beautiful neice who is showing off her latest purchase from the week's adventures into the Isle of Palms' shops.
Lizzy survived the week through drinking coffee out of their cute starbuck's mugs.
Here are more pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Tristin and Brody had a wrestling match. I think Brody might have won. I don't remember.

We only have about 3 weeks left in Columbia. This summer has gone by way to quick. Thank you all for being such a blessing in our lives. It will be nice to get back to friends in Virginia Beach and to our own home, but we couldn't have asked for better parents to live with for the summer. Don't worry-we'll be back soon! Only one more year left in law school. If you think of it, please start praying for John's future job. He will need to apply for a job starting in the fall. His two summer interships have seemed very promising, but we still need the power of prayer! Also, pleeeaassee pray for the bar. It may not be for another year, but John will need all the prayer he can get! It is a gruelling test. On a side note-we went and saw Batman last night and it was awesome. ;) I'll try to be better at blogging for all of my faithful readers. Sorry I am so slack!! :)
