Tyler Family Beach Trip 2008!

So, we just got back from a week of fun and fellowship with the Tyler clan. We stayed at a home that was on the inlet from a family that we knew through the school attached to our church. They had a golf cart that we could ride to the beach which was doubly entertaining for Tristin (ok-for all of us). We were able to put out crab traps at the end of their dock and we caught enough crabs to have crab dip (thanks to Ty). Yum. One funny event is demonstrated in the following picture. It seems that my mom and John's dad have the exact same taste in silly sailor hats for Brody. They must both enjoy watching John put up a fight about dressing Brody as a sailor. :)
John took out the trash one day and found this baby. He decided to keep it for the family's amusement.
This is the house that we stayed in.
Here's a picture from their dock.

Teal is my beautiful neice who is showing off her latest purchase from the week's adventures into the Isle of Palms' shops.
Lizzy survived the week through drinking coffee out of their cute starbuck's mugs.
Here are more pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Tristin and Brody had a wrestling match. I think Brody might have won. I don't remember.

We only have about 3 weeks left in Columbia. This summer has gone by way to quick. Thank you all for being such a blessing in our lives. It will be nice to get back to friends in Virginia Beach and to our own home, but we couldn't have asked for better parents to live with for the summer. Don't worry-we'll be back soon! Only one more year left in law school. If you think of it, please start praying for John's future job. He will need to apply for a job starting in the fall. His two summer interships have seemed very promising, but we still need the power of prayer! Also, pleeeaassee pray for the bar. It may not be for another year, but John will need all the prayer he can get! It is a gruelling test. On a side note-we went and saw Batman last night and it was awesome. ;) I'll try to be better at blogging for all of my faithful readers. Sorry I am so slack!! :)

It has been a while!

Hey everyone-

I am so sorry it has been so long since I last blogged. It would appear that it has been since my birthday, which was in mid-May. SO-there has been a lot of time that has elapsed and I will now try to catch you up on all of it.

The Zaepfel family had their yearly beach trip to Isle of Palms, SC. It was loads of fun and wayy cute-what with Maggie and Brody hanging around. They loved the beach and I look forward to many many years of cuteness with them!

John finished up his legal internship at Sweeny, Wingate & Barrow and has now begun his job with Murphy & Grantland. He loved his time with the Wingate firm tremedously. It is one more confirmation from the Lord that this is what He is calling John to do. I am very excited for him. He has only been at the Murphy firm for 2 weeks, but so far so good. Both firms are run by Christians so the atmosphere is much more pleasant there than it would be at other firms! John is doing wonderfully. I am so proud of him.

Brody is now cutting 2 more teeth! He's got one that has finally broken the gum on top and the one directly to the left of it is barely poking through. It is only a matter of time! He now scoots across the floor like a mad man! I love it. If I am sitting on the other side of the room-he can scoot over to me if he wants to be held (which is soooo sweet). Praise God for our little scooter!!!

So-I helped my sister and brother-in-law pack up there stuff to move closer to up-town Charlotte, but the lady who was supposed to buy their home fell through last minute. So, if you don't mind, if you are reading this sentence-please say a quick prayer for them to sell their home so they can move before little Henry get's here!

OK-enough typing. Here are some fabulous pictures. ENJOY!

cousins RULE!!

I just celebrated my 23rd birthday last Tuesday. In celebration of this momentous occasion, Carrie came down with Maggie for a week full of cuteness. Please brace yourself. The following is cute beyond your wildest imagination. Enjoy. Maggie thought she would think outside the box and enter in to the toy box instead.
Grandma, Poppa, the sisters and cousins all went to the zoo. It was thrilling.

Kiddie pool. Need I say more?
Unlce Peter chilling with the Magsters on Mother's Day.

Notice how they both chose to pose with toys in their mouths. They coordinate so well!
Maggie helped me re-organize my purse.
During the week we had a fun visit with great-Grandma. She made us a delightful tomato pie! Yummm.
Maggie, with her sharp intellect is already brushing her teeth all by herself. Not only that, but she was able to instruct Brody with the elaborate details of mastering this task and he too can enjoy a good tooth brushing here and there.

First time on the swing for Brody Boy.

Brody was happy to entertain Maggie with his jumping.

The Mother's Day festivities wore out the men in the group. Must have been from all that hard work they put into eating the Mother's Day feast.

Back in SC

Well, John and I are now officially back in South Carolina for the summer. It was a long drive, but we made it! Brody wasn't sure for the last three hours of it if we were going to make it and he was definitely trying to prevent us, but we prevailed and now he is happily enjoying ample grandparent and aunt and uncle attention.

We have introduced Brody to having fun with water outside of the bath-tub, so I thought I would share some pictures from this momentous occasion. So-enjoy!
