The Shower Itself

So, I think the shower was a big hit or at least I know I had fun! Here are some pictures of the big day:

To start with-the spread. Thanks to everyone who came, we had quite a feast of yummy brunch time snacks.
We played two games. The first was called, "What is Mommy Thinking?" where we all try to match the answers that Natali gives to some fill in the blank statements like..."Oh look Honey, she has my _____" or "Is the baby supposed to ______ like that?"

The second game was quite hilarious. Thanks to Erin Henderson's creative abilities, we were able to play "Pin the Fetus on the Belly". It was funny. I think Sarah's fetus wanted to be a household decoration, what with plopping itself right on our light switch and all.

Here is the mother to be having her go at the game-
Of course, there were some presents being opened... these were so adorable. Seriously, what woman doesn't like to watch someone open up cute baby girl things??
Speaking of cute baby girls.... Janine Weaver brought her sweet daughter Abigail to the shower.

Of course, after the shower Brody enjoyed playing with the balloons... he's still playing with them right now in front of me. I like him. He's a keeper. :)

Here's the only new picture I could find. For some odd reason, I feel like my blog wouldn't be viewed at all if it weren't for cute pictures of the Brode ;)

So-my sweet friend Natali is about to have her baby girl (well-she's due May 5th, but that's right around the corner). So, I am throwing her a baby shower tomorrow. I am really excited about it. I've got a cheesecake in the oven, chicken salad in the fridge, mixed nuts to be munched on, scones to be had and so much more! I think I might have just used Natali as an excuse to make my favorites.

Please pray that the shower will be uplifting and encouraging to Natali as she pushes through to the end of her pregnancy. Pray that the Lord will bless us with a sweet time of fellowship together and that we'll all have some good fun. Also, please pray that I can manage to somehow clean my apartment in time!! I love toddlers, but they make messes better than the Tazmanian Devil!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll hopefully get some fun pictures and I'll try to post them after the shower. Have a blessed day for all of you who read this.

Psalm 103:17
"But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children."

Spring Break, part 2

So, we spent the latter part of our Spring Break in Columbia, but as I mentioned before - the first part of it was with Aunt Lizzy in Wilmore, Kentucky. So, I just wanted to post some pictures of the whole trip.

Here we are at the airport. The Brodster was totally happy to watch airplanes and airport help vehicles scurry around outside.

Brody did really well on our first flight. He pretty much ate a sandwich the whole time. This helped doubly to 1-amuse him & 2-keep his ears popping while he swallowed.

By the time flight #2 rolled around-he was getting sleepy.

He finally fell alseep about 30 minutes before we landed. Oh well-I definitely enjoyed the snuggling.

Here we are finally there! Brody is still a little sleepy...

As I mentioned above, we were in Kentucky... so there were tons of horses everywhere. Lizzy directed us to their equestrian center and we got to pet a lot of gorgeous horses. Brody loved it... except that one of the horses thought he had food and bit his hand. But, he got over it relatively quickly.

This is just a really awesome spot that Lizzy took us to. I think it was called "high bridge" (which fits...).

Thanks, Liz for a fun trip!

and now... I thought you might all enjoy a little sneak preview of Brody's Easter outfit. This is just a portion of it... thanks to Grand-Momma! :)

Spring Break 2009! (last ever...)

So, we had a very busy Spring break. I might have to break down my post into two separate ones in order to post all the pictures I'd like to. We started out visiting Aunt Lizzy at Asbury College in Kentucky. Brody was happy to ride on an airplane for the first time and he did surprisingly well. He either slept or ate pretty much the whole time. (I'll post pictures from this on my next post if I have time).

After that we went to Columbia and got to see pretty much the entire family. Exceptionally fun was Brody and my trip to Edventure with Aunt Carrie, cousins Maggie & Henry and Grandma. Here are some pictures to show you just how much fun it was:

First we started out our day at Cracker Barrel...YUM.

On our way to Edventure the children happily anticipated what joy was awaiting them....or they let the pancakes sit heavily in their tummies and they fought sleep (whatever)!

Here we are inside the belly of Ed. He, too had eaten pancakes for breakfast.

So, Brody absolutely went bonkers over the giant fire-truck that they had set up for the kids to play on. They had little fireman outfits which I of course put on him.

He wouldn't really stay still for a picture... too much excitement.
Brody was happiest driving the truck I believe.

Which, in turn, made Maggie a little nervous.

As you can see here-Brody was pretty much happiest driving anything they had set up with handles. He also drove a car, tractor, and a moped.
Maggie's wintery tail included making friends with a penguin.
Here we are in the desert:

In Africa, Aunt Carrie, AKA (to some) Mommy, whipped out some of her mad tribal skills and lead the group in a tribal dance. It was really cute. The room had a TV monitor and you could see everyone dancing in it. The green screen behind and beneath them made it look like they were dancing with a bunch of African tribal members. It was great. My personal highlight of the day.

This next picture captures why I loved this room so much... so cute. And of course, how else does one finish the day except by riding in Papa's "tractor"?
We really had a good time on our trip! :)
