Spend the Night (almost) Partayyy!

So, Brody was soooo excited to have Madelyn (aka "Maddles" or "Mads") come over tonight. Maddles' parents (our good friends Jamie and Brandon Smith) were able to go see the USC football game. So, we had the benefit of an entire evening of fun with the kids!

So, we started off with a little dance party. Lot's of toys were played with and there were many giggles. Brody decided to have 2nd dinner since Madelyn had not eaten yet and he didn't want to see her have to eat alone.
After dance partying and dinner the kids took a bath and got in jammies. We had a brief period of separate book reading followed by jumping on the bed (the one on the floor). I kept hearing them say to each other "scuuuuse me! scuse meee!" that was only when they would bump into each other.
Now, what is a slumber party without some buckin' bronco?
Lastly we read some books, said our prayers, sang some songs and went night-night. The two of them really surprised me. I thought for the heck of it I would see if they could sleep in the same room without keeping each other awake. Sure enough-they both just conked right out and I never heard another word. I guess it helps that they played so hard before bed! Thanks for coming over Mads! We had a blast.

and now-for anyone interested... here is my 22 weeks pregnant shot. It is hard to believe that I'm that far already and that I have almost as long to go... I'm not sure I will have enough space!

Airshow and the Beach!

There was an airshow a few Saturdays ago about 30 minutes away from here. So, we packed up the car and drove out. Brody absolutely loved it. He liked to see all the huge machines, but was wary at first of going on them. He quickly got over his fear and started climbing all over any helicopter or airplane you could throw at him.
Not only did he get to go on lots of amazing machines, but we got to watch some parachutes and a little bit of the stunt jets. It was a little boys paradise.

So, Brody and I just got back from a fun filled trip to West Palm, Florida with John's aunt Donna and cousin Jen and her two boys Buddy and Eli (or John-John or Eli-John). The boys are 3 (Eli) and 5 (Buddy) and they are all boys. There may have been three adult women on this trip, but there was a whole lot of little boy testosterone pumping through the air!!
We went out to lot's of different places. One of the places we went to was a marina and watched a huge yaght getting docked. They LOVED seeing that.
We, of course, went to the beach. The weather was really nice. It was in the upper 70s for most of our trip and sunny. So, we could play on the beach without jackets but still stay cool.

Buddy made some beautiful sand castles and then they were promptly destroyed by the three boys. What else should you do?
Eli thought it was great to bury his feet and then fling his feet and loads of sand up into the air. So, we sat and did that for a long time.

There were many other ventures to playgrounds (some with two story slides and others with views of the beach) to the mall, to see a loggerhead sea turtle museum with live turtles of all ages and a pool at the house. It was great. Thanks so much to aunt Donna for opening up her home to us and we can't wait to see Jen and the boys again soon!

20 weeks pregnant

So, my sweet nephew Henry is now a year old. It is crazy to see the time go by. he is such a little toddler now! He enjoyed his birthday cake and ran around and played with all his might. I would guess he had a good night's sleep after that. This morning I caught Brody playing by himself singing "happy Birthday" to Henry. I think we need to have another birthday soon or say.... some sort of national holiday where families all get together. :)

This is a picture of our present to Henry. I think it turned out cute and I hear that not only is Henry getting enjoyiment out of his snake, but that Maggie enjoys hauling it around too.
I know that Trooper is now like 8 years old, but I am proud to report that I finally finished his "congrats on being born" painting. It was so fun to make and I hope he enjoys looking at it as much as I enjoyed painting it.

I was in the middle of aerobics class this morning with my belly flying through the air when it hit me... HOLY MOLY!! I am already half done with this pregnancy! That's right. today, I am officially 20 weeks pregnant. It is true what I hear from other moms-that the second pregnancy goes by way faster than the first. This morning Brody got up and we asked him his usual questions.. "Did you sleep well?" "Did you have any dreams?" He usually answers that he dreamt about grandma and papa, but this morning he said he dreamt about the baby. SO sweet. Please continue to pray for a sweetness and love between these two siblings. God has been faithful to show us the beginning of fruit in Brody's heart about loving his little brother or sister. We just have to stay on our knees.
